French Toasts Made With The LCHF Panini

This is French Toast made with the LCHF panini, and as the picture shows I made a savoury and a sweet one! Now this is some treat for a day off! Actually this is extremely easy to make as long as you have the panini in your fridge. Remember always to store the panini cold as it is quite fat.
I would like to stress again the importance of ensuring the large intake of fat. The fat is your new fuel instead of carbs. You will probably have to eat more fat than you’ll find reasonable when you change to LCHF, but don’t feel bad about it. I will explain more about this in my next posts. Before that, please find a little more information here.

How To Make These French Toasts

Serves 2

toast-french2 slices of panini, divide them into two, makes 4 thin pieces
2 eggs, slightly beaten with a little cream (like 1-2 tablespoons)
Bacon, 2-4 slices depending of the size and your expectations
200 ml double cream, whipped
Butter or coconut oil for frying (no margerine, no spreadable product)
A little blackberry jam or fresh blueberries/strawberries

Method

Start frying the bacon slices. While you do this, dip the bread slices thoroughly in the slightly whipped eggs. Heat up the pan and add the butter/oil. When the butter is light brown, you can fry the panini.
Fry the panini on both sides until they are light brown. I recommend 2 minutes on each side depending on the heat.

french-toastWhip the cream and put it on top of the two of the toasts. Add a little jam, if you’re not following a STRICT LCHF.  Add berries if you like that too. Put the fried bacon on the other two and eventually a little Tabasco or slices of chili.

As you might have experienced already, the panini is not a sweet bread, and therefore it’s valuable for both types of French Toasts, both the sweet with cream and the savoury one with bacon and pepper as topping. Enjoy this as brunch!
